Cains Assist British Computer Society
15th June 2009
Cains have assisted the Isle of Man branch of the British Computer Society with the creation of a computer drop-in centre primarily for people with disabilities at the Leonard Cheshire Centre in Onchan. Flexible computer desks were purchased by Cains which allow wheel chair users to have full access whilst working on computers. The Leonard Cheshire Centre is a facility which emcompasses both development of IT skills and social activity for people with disabilities and also the elderly.
Andrew Corlett, managing director of Cains said: “We were happy to support such a worthwhile cause which is an essential part of the Isle of Man community.”
Tracy Kinrade from Central Software who assisted with the installation of the IT requirements said “New technology has great potential to overcome barriers in education, the workplace and social life for disabled and older people. The project team were all delighted to be involved and excited at this facility will provide its many users with the facilities and access to the world which we all take for granted.” |
