Cains Co-Sponsor Taylor Root Law Society Rugby 7’s

Cains are co-sponsors of the Law Society Rugby 7’s event which took place on Sunday 20th September at Richmond Rugby Ground.
The event is run annually, with Cains co-sponsoring for the 3rd year, and attracts 3,000 - 4,000 city lawyers who come to support their teams. 40 teams drawn from the major city firms enter the tournament which comprises three competitions, the Qualifying Tournament, the Main Tournament and the Plate Tournament. Each tournament is run on a simple knock-out basis, with the sixteen teams which are knocked out in the first round of the Main Tournament going into the Plate Competition.
All proceeds of the event to go to the Wooden Spoon Society and this year it raised £5,000. The Charity was founded in 1983 and has a rich heritage in sport, especially rugby, with a mission to enhance the quality of life for children and young people, disadvantaged either mentally, physically or socially, throughout the UK.
Seth Caine, a Director of Cains said, “It is a pleasure to be involved with this fun event which is a major day out in the City’s social calendar and attracts thousands of lawyers and their friends and families”
This years entrants included Clifford Chance, Herbert Smith and Lovells.
Burges Salmon won the Main Tournament and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert won the Plate Tournament.
